KUTING REEF, Macrohon, Southern Leyte

I have been to as far as Isabel Leyte in the North and Maasin in the South but I have no idea that just a little farther from Maasin is Southern Leyte’s secret natural hideaway – Kuting Reef.   It is located at Barangay Asuncion, Macrohon.  Kuting Reef is an exclusive 3 hectare tropical resort covered by Bermuda grass with old coconut trees.

I visited their website at www.kuting-reef.com and i learned lots of information which increased my thrill and excitement to visit their place.

1. Cambaro Cave Php 1950.00 per person (Min. of 4 pax)
Explore this very unique and seemingly endless network of caves. The fee includes transportation from Kuting Reef to Cambaro Cave and back, meals, entrance fee, local tour guide fee, use of flashlights, drinks and snacks. 

2. Cagnituan Falls and Lagoon Php Php 1550.00 per person (Min. of 4 pax) You’ll be taken to a subterranean river which leads to an enchanting cave.  The fee includes transportation to and from Kuting Reef, meals, entrance fee, local tour guide fee, drinks, and snacks.

3. Religious and Cultural Tour Php 750.00 per person (Min. of 4 pax) The itinerary includes a visit to Macrohon Fish Sanctuary, Monte Cueva, a cave which was transformed into a religious shrine, and the Maasin 17th century Cathedral.  The fee includes transportation to and from Kuting Reef, entrance fee, tour guide fee, and bottled water. 

4. Limasawa Island Speedboat Tour Php 2500.00 per person (Min. of 4 pax) The tour starts with a speedboat ride to Limasawa Island. You will climb the 450 steps leading to the Cross of Magellan at the top of the hill. You will have the chance to see the cod oil extraction process of the island residents. Lunch and snacks will be served. Tour takes about 4 to 5 hours. The package includes the use of the speedboat, meals, entrance fee, local tour guide, drinks and snacks. 

5.Whale Shark Watching Tour    Php 2500.00 per person (Min. of 4 pax) The tour will bring you to either Panaon or Limasawa Island where the whale sharks feed. The package includes transportation, tour guide, food and drinks.

Getting there?
From Manila:
Take a commercial flight to Tacloban City or Ormoc City. You can either take the Kuting Reef Shuttle or Commercial/Passenger Van from the Airport to Kuting Reef.  

From Cebu:
Take the Passenger Ferry to Maasin or Hilongos or Bato, Leyte. You can either take the Kuting Reef Shuttle or Commercial/Passenger Van from the Port of Maasin or Hilongos or Bato, Leyte to Kuting Reef.
