CEBU - PANDANON - TALIMA ISLAND HOPPING

Summer this year began so late but ended too soon.  With rain pouring down, it still may not be too late to frolic in the sand or catch a ride to another island near Cebu, as Mr. Sun occasionally took some glimpse on the baked shores of Cebu .  It won't cost you that much to hop from one island to another, at least not in Cebu.  For summer fun under budget, you may check out great offers from Islands Banca Cruises.  You can enjoy island hopping for P300 per head with your friends, coz we did.
Mactan Island, Cebu, Philippines
We rode out early morning at about 8 or 9 on a small banca or boat they called "Butete" which is good for 10 to 15 people.
Mactan Island, Cebu, Philippines
No, not that one. That was way too small.  It was just a service boat to carry the passengers to the bigger boat because our boat was docked at the farther end where there was no other way to board it but through this small boat.
Pandanon Island, Philippines
This was our boat.  We were just 6 friends aboard plus the captain and 2 support crew.  There are larger boats for more people.  We then headed for Pandanon Island which is an islet near Bohol.

Travel didn't took that long or so it seems, because we were enjoying the sights and the blue and greenish seas plus the great weather.
Pandanon, Philippines
Pandanon was just a very small island.  We stayed there until early afternoon.  It feels like we owned the place as there was only a few of us there.  There were very few cottages too.

The cool breeze was so refreshing amidst the scorching heat of the sun.

We had our lunch which was included in the package.  A chicken barbecue meal complete with "puso" or hanging rice and drinks.  Lami kaayo!! (so delicious!)
Pandanon, Philippines
Though the heat was almost relentless, the shores of Pandanon never fails to beckon us, as if longing to enfold us in its crystal clear waters.
Pandanon, Philippines
It's picturesque charms seems to offer a lot more than meets the eye.  It was so magical, so captivating that we thought we'd never want to leave.
Pandanon, Philippines
Even the starfishes told us to stay a little bit longer. . .
Pandanon, Philippines
But we have to go.
Pandanon, Philippines
or we'll miss out on another great adventure awaiting us. So early afternoon, we head to another island - Talima, but not really setting on foot the island coz we just stayed afloat, on a fish sanctuary.
Talima Fish Sanctuary, Cebu, Philippines
We were so thrilled to be swimming among all those fishes and corals beneath us.

Wearing those life vests felt funny when actually on the water. Just try it and you'll know.  It was just so enjoyable.

The underwater camera we brought, took witness to all the great moments  we have had.

So by late afternoon, we head back to Mactan Island in Cebu and saw dolphins on the way.

Landing on the shore was even a greater adventure, as it was low tide already, so we have to walk above those slimy - green sea plants or whatever you may call it.
Cebu, Philippines
But it was all worth it.  The fun on the sea and on the shores of Cebu was incomparable.  These natural wonders are just amidst us, here in Cebu, we don't have to go that far 'coz Cebu thrives with these priceless gems.

So have Fun, After all it's still summer!
